2022 ended with a very special invitation from a very special guest. HOM was invited to participate in an awareness-raising event, the Coração e o Mundo Awards 2022, organised by Doctor Gustavo Carona, an inspiring humanitarian actor with extensive experience in multiple humanitarian emergencies who, above everything, looks at emergencies with his heart and seeks to take a humanizing approach to every Human Rights crisis.

Not only were we granted the opportunity to share important messages from displaced persons with a wider public, but present the ideas that inform HOM’s work and learn about other organisations and their important approaches to Human Rights.

The event ended with Doctor Gustavo sharing some of his experience in the humanitarian field, as well as the dilemmas he was sometimes confronted with and the key lessons he retained.
