HOM is currently made up of 24 volunteers, divided between the departments of Project Management, Communication, Legal, Human Resources and Finance. Our work is mostly remote, as we’re spread throughout Portugal and Europe.

Rosário Tomé
Co-founder and President
24 years old. Worked with refugees under a context of emergency in Samos, Greece and with resettled refugees in Portugal before creating HOM. Pursued a BSc in International Management at Warwick University and an MSc in Human Rights and Politics at the London School of Economics and currently works for an NGO in Lesvos, Greece.
Carolina Veloso
Vice-President
21 years old. Fourth year medical student at Nova University, Lisbon, Portugal, with an integrated Masters.
Inês Loureiro Pinto
Vice-President
24 years old. Holds a BSc in Communication Sciences with a specialisation in Journalism by Oporto University, Portugal and worked with refugees in Greece. Currently an environmental journalist.
