HOM is currently made up of 28 volunteers, divided between Project Management, Communication, Legal, Human Resources and Fundraising teams. Our work is mostly remote, as we’re spread throughout Portugal and Europe.

Rosário Tomé

Co-founder and President

25 years old. Worked with refugees under a context of emergency in Samos, Greece and with resettled refugees in Portugal before creating HOM. BSc in International Management at Warwick University and an MSc in Human Rights and Politics at the London School of Economics and currently works for an NGO in Lesvos, Greece.

Margarida Seco

Vice-President

22 years old. Law degree from University of Porto, Portugal. Continuing training in International Humanitarian Law and Asylum and Refugee Law. Recruiter for Amnesty International Portugal’s Face to Face Project. Volunteer worker in Greece (Korinthos and Athens) – social and legal support for migrants, asylum seekers and refugees.

 

Inês Loureiro Pinto

Vice-President

25 years old. BSc in Communication Sciences with a specialisation in Journalism from University of Porto, Portugal. Volunteer worker for Vasilika Moon’s humanitarian projects in Korinthos and Athens, Greece. Environmental journalist.

Maria Inês Vieira

Secretary

 

21 years old. BSc in Nutrition Sciences by NOVA Medical School. Member of HOM since its foundation.

 

Laura Castro

Treasurer

24 years old. Integrated Master’s Degree in Medicine. Member of HOM since its foundation. Two medical volunteer missions with refugees in Greece (Moria and Thessaloniki). Portuguese mentor with Refugees Welcome Portugal.
