Depois de uma curta legislatura de maioria absoluta, aproximamo-nos de um período eleitoral inesperado, a 50 anos da celebração da Revolução dos Cravos. No resto da Europa as políticas de “portas fechadas” ganham força e motivadas por perigosas ideias nacionalistas, manifestadas pelas vozes da extrema-direita. A 10 de Março, quando nos dirigimos às urnas, importa refletir e considerar:
Em que Portugal queremos viver?
Um caracterizado pela hostilidade, ou por segurança, abrigo e partilha?
À medida que nos aproximamos das eleições legislativas em Portugal, é fundamental que os eleitores considerem as propostas migratórias de cada partido enquanto olham para o boletim, e decidam quem deve liderar o país. Acreditamos que esta questão não define apenas o caráter humanitário da nossa Comunidade, mas reflete o nosso compromisso para com os Direitos Humanos. É necessário garantir que o nosso Governo e a nossa Assembleia da República defendem a dignidade humana, a inclusão e a solidariedade.
Para ajudar os eleitores a um voto informado, a Humanity On the Move e o Serviço Jesuíta aos Refugiados (JRS) desenvolveram um trabalho de investigação independente e objetivo que se foca nos programas eleitorais e declarações oficiais nos Partidos Políticos com assento na Assembleia da República Portuguesa nos últimos cinco anos. A nossa pesquisa concentrou-se na ideia de que procurar segurança é um direito fundamental. Após finalizados todos os debates eleitorais, e lançados todos os Programas Eleitorais, poderás agora consultar o nosso relatório.
Este documento inclui:
- Uma análise das mensagens principais e princípios de cada partido político
- A revisão dos programas eleitorais e afirmações oficiais de cada partido em relação às migrações – nomeadamente, à imigração
- Uma análise de como cada partido aborda (ou não) as diferentes formas de migração e a inclusão social
Votar com solidariedade significa escolher candidatos e partidos que promovam políticas justas baseadas nos princípios dos Direitos Humanos. Esta é uma oportunidade para reafirmarmos o nosso compromisso para com a solidariedade internacional, e juntos construirmos um Futuro mais justo e acolhedor para todos em Portugal.

After a short legislature of absolute majority, in Portugal, we are currently in an unexpected electoral period, while celebrating 50 years of our Revolution for Freedom. All throughout Europe restrictive “closed-door” policies have gained momentum, driven by dangerous nationalist ideologies and expressed by loud far-right voices. On March 10th, when we head to the polls, it is important to reflect and consider:
In what Portugal do we want to live in?
One characterised by hostility, or by shared sense of safety and shelter?
Now, more than ever, it is crucial that voters look at the options on their ballot considering the migration proposals of each party – particularly for refugees and migrant people in Portugal. We believe that this issue not only defines the humanitarian character of our Community but also reflects our dedicated commitment to Human Rights. It is necessary to ensure that our Government and our Parliament continuously work and respect human dignity, inclusion, and solidarity.
To help people vote consciously and responsibly, Humanity On the Move has developed an independent and objective investigation. This research focuses on the Political Parties who held a seat in the Portuguese Parliament in the last five years, focusing on their Election Programs and official statements. Central to our research was the idea that seeking security is a fundamental right. Therefore, after all Electoral Debates are concluded and all Election Programs are released, you will access our comprehensive report.
This document includes:
- An analysis of the main messages and principles of each political party;
- A review of the Electoral Programs and official statements of each party regarding migrations – particularly, immigration;
- An analysis of how each party addresses, or does not address, different forms of migration and social inclusion.
Voting with solidarity means choosing candidates who promote fair policies based on the principles of Human Rights. This presents us with an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to international solidarity and together build a fairer and more welcoming Future for everyone in Portugal.
